Resolution
It is possible to remove specific managers from the approval chain when setting up a compensation cycle. By default, if you toggle off a specific Recommender/Approver on the Recommenders/Approvers page, their manager becomes the new Recommender/Approver. Here, you can also change the approver outside of the reporting line.
Note: If an employee does not have a manager assigned prior to the Datacheck step in the setup, the admin will be automatically assigned as the recommender/approver.
If you change someone's manager during the cycle setup, follow the steps below to automatically reflect any changes:
- Go back to Employees > Select Reset changes > Redoing the employee eligibility step again.
- Continue through to the Recommenders and approvers step, which will update the manager to reflect the changes made.
In an active or drafted cycle:
Edit the recommender for individual employees
- Navigate to Manage > Employees.
- Find the employee in the list > Click on the current recommender > Change recommender by selecting another user in the reporting line list, or search for any cycle participant via the text search.
- Click on the recommender's name to assign them as the recommender.
Edit the recommender and approver
- Navigate to Manage > Recommender and approver progress.
- Select the ellipsis (...) next to the Recommender > Manage Recommendations.
- Use the dropdown to select or search for an approver.
- Select Save changes.
Note: Recommenders/Approvers cannot be removed or changed in an active cycle if recommendations have already been submitted by the current assigned Recommender/Approver.
