With O&KR differentiation, you can create objectives and key results rather than simply generic “goals.” Objective and key result differentiation is a vast improvement for usability and downstream reporting for employees and business leaders alike.

Before you start

Please keep in mind that once this feature is activated, it cannot be undone. We highly recommend enabling this feature at the beginning of a Goal creation cycle. At this time, you’ll have the option of whether O&KR differentiation is enabled. Note, this will be activated for all Lattice accounts on January 4, 2022. For more information, check out Best Practices for Enabling O&KR Differentiation.

What are the differences between objectives and key results?

Objectives: Where do I want to go?

Objectives set the direction for the entire company, department, team, or individual and are usually qualitative and aspirational.

Key Results: How will I get there?

Key results measure what matters in order to accomplish the objective and are usually metrics-driven and tangible.

Enable OKR Differentiation

  1. Navigate to Admin > Goals > Settings.

  2. Next to Objective & Key result Differentiation, select Enable.

  3. In the pop-up window that appears, select Yes, enable.
