Troubleshoot missing MCP tools or permissions

Why recently added tools may be missing

A newer tool may not appear if:

  • The tool was released after the MCP connection was created.

  • The existing connection has not received the tool’s required OAuth scope.

  • The user does not have the required Lattice permission.

  • An administrator has not enabled or published the tool in the AI client.

  • The MCP client has not refreshed its available tool list.

General Guidelines

Employees will need to re-authenticate with the Lattice MCP Server. In general, this means the employee will need to:

  1. Disconnect their existing MCP connection.

  2. Reconnect to the Lattice MCP Server and complete the OAuth flow again.

Re-authenticating allows the client to discover the newly available MCP scopes and include them in the user's new authentication tokens.
