Admins can change Lattice default names to better reflect their company culture. These changes will appear across the Lattice platform for both admins and employees.

Note: If multiple languages are being used, users whose language is not set to English (United States) or English (UK) will see the customized name, but it will not be localized .

Add a Custom Name

  1. Navigate to Admin > Settings > Custom naming.

  2. Next to the relevant tool, enter the Custom singular and Custom plural.

Available Names to Change

Platform:

  • Manager: Appears across the platform to describe reporting relationships.

  • Department: Appears across the platform to describe organizational groups.

Note: CSV Uploads/SFTP Reports will still need to use Lattice's default field names (Manager and Department), not the custom renamed version.

Goals:

  • Goal: This is the name of the product. Appears in navigation, My team, and profiles.

  • Key result: Appears in Goals. Quantitative goal name, i.e. how you reach the goal.

  • Objective: Appears in Goals. Qualitative goal name, i.e. the overall goal to be reached.

Grow:

  • Grow: Appears in navigation, My team, and profiles to describe the name of the Grow tool.

  • Growth area: Appears in Grow, My team, and profiles.

  • Individual development plan: Appears in Grow, navigation, My team, and profiles.

  • IDP: Appears in Grow. Acronym for the individual development plan.

  • Career track: Appears in Grow and navigation.

  • Competency: Appears in Grow and Career tracks.

Feedback:

  • Praise: Appears in Feedback.

  • Feedback: Appears in navigation, My team, and profiles.

Performance:

  • Review: Appears in Performance, Analytics, navigation, review cycles, and tasks.

  • Reviewer: Appears in Performance, review cycles, and tasks to describe the employee writing the review.

  • Reviewee: Appears in Performance, review cycles, and tasks to describe the employee having the review written about them.

  • Self: Appears in Performance to describe the review an employee writes for themselves.

  • Peer: Appears in Performance to describe the review written about an employee by their peers.

  • Upward: Appears in Performance to describe the review written by an employee about their manager.

  • Downward: Appears in Performance to describe the review written by a manager about their direct report.

  • Improvement plan: Appears in Performance, profile page, and the form to create an improvement plan.

  • PIP: Appears in Performance, profile page, and the form to create an improvement plan.
