When updating goal progress, employees can update as an increment or total. Updating incrementally will add or subtract the amount you added to your current progress. Whereas updating by total will change the progress to the amount you inputted.

Example

The following example walks through the options for goal progress if you decide to update incrementally OR by total.

Goal: Hire 7 people for the people team. Start: 0. Target: 7.

Month 1: Made 1 hire.

  • Increment: 1 hire

  • Total: 1 hire

New goal progress: 1.

Month 2: Made 3 hires.

  • Increment: 3 hires

  • Total: 4

New goal progress: 4
