There are two reasons to convert a goal to an objective or key result:
- To manually convert unclassified goals to an objective or key result because you opted not to backfill your goals.
- If your unclassified goal is qualitative (binary):
- Converting to an objective keeps all progress
- Converting to a key result keeps all progress
- If your unclassified goal is quantitative (number, percent, dollar, integration):
- Converting to an objective removes the quantitative progress (What's New updates in the timeline will remain)
- Converting to a key result keeps all progress
- If your unclassified goal is qualitative (binary):
- To convert an existing key result to an objective or to convert an existing objective to a key result.
- Converting an objective to a key result requires you to specify how you want to measure progress (binary, number, percent, dollar, integration)
- Converting from a key result to an objective removes your quantitative progress on that goal, (what's new updates in the timeline will remain) and remove the integration, if any
