The Compensation Bands page is where super admins can view and manage the compensation bands for their organization.
Navigate to the Compensation Bands page from Admin > Compensation > Compensation Bands.
Note: Lattice's UI has updated since the above guide was recorded, so exact clicks may look different in your site! The video's description of available actions to take is still accurate.
The Compensation Bands page allows admins to:
- Create and update compensation bands
- View all compensation bands
- Delete compensation bands
- Share compensation bands
Compensation bands table
The Compensation bands table provides band details in sortable columns. Click Columns to remove or add columns to view in the table. You have the option to view the following data in the table:
- Job Level and Compensation Band Name (always visible)
- Job Function
- Job Type
- Pay Zone
-
Employees
- This lists number of employees assigned to this band. Clicking this number links to a filtered view of Employee Pay showing only the employees belonging to this band.
- Base Pay (Minimum, Target, and Maximum)
- Variable Pay (Minimum, Target, and Maximum)
-
On-Target Earnings (Minimum, Target, and Maximum)
- This is the sum of Variable Pay and Base Pay.
-
Equity (Type, Minimum, Target, and Maximum)
- Equity Type can be ISO, NSO, RSA, RSU, or None
-
Bonus
- This is a single number expressed in either currency or %, indicating bonus associated with this compensation band.
Note: Each range has a Target value that can be manually selected when creating or updating the band. This target does not have to be the numerical midpoint between Minimum and Maximum. Employees' compa-ratio will always be calculated based on the selected Target value if one is supplied. If no Target value exists, compa-ratio will be calculated based on the band's midpoint.
Lattice formerly used the mathematical midpoint between the band's minimum and maximum, even when the Target does not match that value. This logic changed in November 2024 to calculate compa-ratio based on the Target.
When a Job Function filter is selected at the top of the page, the table will convert into a chart that compares compensation bands within that Job Function, broken down by Level and Pay Zone. X-axis of the chart will always be Job Level, and Y-axis will be one of these selections:
- Base pay (default)
- Variable pay
- On-target earnings
- Equity (in number of shares)
