Lattice's onboarding tool assists you in efficiently bringing new employees on board while standardizing your processes using customized onboarding templates.
To create an Onboarding template:
- Navigate to Admin > Onboarding > Templates
- Select Create onboarding template

Template Details: Enter a name for your onboarding template and select the employment type for this template (Full-time, Part-time, Contingent Worker, Temporary)
- Note: you can only select one employment type per template
- Assign Fields: Select and assign fields that need to be completed during onboarding by Admins and New hires.
Note: there are 9 required fields to onboard new hires. To add additional fields to your onboarding template, select Assign optional fields.

Documents (optional): add the documents you must collect from these new hires before this first day. New hires will be asked to submit documents after completing their required fields.

Select documents to read and sign
- New hires will be asked to mark as read or e-sign any documents you add in this step.
- Note: documents must first be created before they can be added to your Onboarding Template

Select documents for upload
- New hires will be asked to upload copies of any documents you add in this step.
- You can also choose an approver for these uploaded documents—either no approver, the Onboarding admin, or a Specific person.

Tasks (optional): Create and assign tasks for new hires, managers, admins, or additional employees to complete once their fields and documents are complete.

Emails (optional): Set up automatic onboarding emails to send to new hires, managers, admins, or additional employees to help prepare for their first day.
- For new hires: An email scheduled before the new hire’s first day will be delivered to their personal email address, while an email scheduled after the new hire’s first day will be delivered to their work email address. For current employees and admins: All scheduled emails will be delivered to the employee’s work email address.
- For new hires: An email scheduled before the new hire’s first day will be delivered to their personal email address, while an email scheduled after the new hire’s first day will be delivered to their work email address. For current employees and admins: All scheduled emails will be delivered to the employee’s work email address.
- Verify: In this step, review and confirm your full Onboarding template and make any necessary changes. When you are ready to publish, select Publish this template. Your Onboarding template is now active and ready to use for new hires.
