What Data the Lattice Slack App Collects

Conversations with the Lattice Slack App constitute Lattice customer data and are subject to Lattice's Data Processing Agreement.

Data

What it is

Messages to the AI agent

The messages a user sends to the Lattice Slack agent in Slack.

AI Agent replies

The answers and drafts that the Lattice Slack App sends back.

Tool results

The data that the Lattice Slack App gets from Lattice or a connected source to answer a request. For example, a user's goals or recent Jira activity.

Lattice notifications

The Lattice notifications that Lattice sends to Slack.

User mappings

A link between each Slack user ID and the matching employee in Lattice.

Slack tokens

Slack gives Lattice access keys for your workspace. Lattice uses them to send and receive messages in Slack.

LLM debugging traces

Records of each request to the AI model and the response. Lattice stores these records in LangSmith, a tool that Lattice uses to find and fix errors.

Lattice does not use Slack data to train AI models.

How Lattice Keeps Your Data Separate

Lattice runs one shared service for all customers and keeps each company's data separate inside that service. When the Lattice Slack App gets data or builds a request to the AI model, Lattice uses only data from your company that the user has permission to see.

  • Lattice does not show one company's Slack or Lattice data to another company.

  • Lattice does not put one company's data in another company's AI model requests.

  • Lattice sends only the data that a request needs.

How Long Lattice Keeps the Data

Lattice keeps Lattice Slack App conversations for the length of your contract, and are deleted within 30 days of a customer admin's request or 6 months after your contract ends. A conversation includes the messages to the AI agent, the AI agent replies, and the tool results.

Lattice keeps LLM debugging traces for 180 days.

Where Lattice processes the data

Although data is hosted in the EU, it will be transferred outside of the EU for processing by Lattice and Lattice's subprocessors for the delivery of Lattice services.

OpenAI calls and LLM debugging traces (LangSmith) for EU customers are processed in the US. The analytics warehouse (us-west-2) holds a copy of EMEA AI agent conversations with message text hashed.

Request deletion of Lattice Slack App data

A customer admin can ask Lattice to delete Lattice Slack App data. Lattice deletes the data within 30 days of the request.

A customer admin can request the deletion of:

  • One user's conversations.

  • All Lattice Slack App data for the company.

Lattice does not accept deletion requests from individual users. If you are an employee, ask your customer admin to send the request.

To request deletion:

  1. Contact Lattice Support at [email protected].

  2. Say whether you want to delete one user's conversations or all of your company's data.

  3. For one user, give the user's name and Lattice email address.

Lattice Support replies within 2 business days.

Lattice deletes the data from the Lattice database and from the analytics warehouse.

What Happens When You Remove the Lattice Slack App

When you remove the Lattice Slack app from your workspace, Lattice deletes the Slack tokens and the user mappings.

Lattice does not delete the conversations when you remove the Lattice Slack app. To delete the conversations sooner, a customer admin must request deletion.
