Interactive workflows let employees and managers do supported Lattice work in Slack. They can ask questions in plain language, review AI drafts, and complete supported actions. Lattice stays the system of record.

You do not need to install a new app. When you enable interactive workflows, the existing Lattice Slack App gains these features. Users do not need to sign in again.

Before You Start

You need:

  • Administrator access in Lattice.

  • An active Lattice Slack integration. Learn how to integrate with Slack.

  • Your organization has enabled the following:

    • Lattice AI

    • Lattice AI Agent

    • Lattice AI Agent in Slack

Employees must use the same email address in Slack and Lattice.

Confirm Interactive Workflows Are Enabled

Interactive workflows are enabled by default if your company has connected Lattice to Slack and enabled Lattice AI. To check or change the settings:

  1. Go to Admin Overview > Lattice AI > Features.

  2. Make sure Lattice AI is on.

  3. Make sure Lattice AI Agent is on.

  4. Make sure the Lattice AI Agent in Slack is on.

Interactive workflows are on for your company only when all three settings are on.

What Admins Can Control

You can manage these settings separately:

  • Slack notifications. Your company can use notifications without interactive workflows.

  • Interactive workflows. If you turn off the Lattice AI Agent in Slack, the Lattice Slack App will continue to send notifications as before.

  • Third-party connectors. Your company can use interactive workflows without connectors. Lattice does not automatically connect to or read third-party data. Some connectors need an admin to set them up.

What Happens Next

Each employee gets a welcome message in the Lattice Slack App. The message shows the supported workflows and sample prompts. It also helps the employee add third-party connectors.

Employees and managers can use interactive workflows for:

  • Updates

  • Meetings

  • Goals

  • Feedback

  • Reading the org chart data

The AI agent can only see data that the employee already has permission to view in Lattice and in any connected source.

Notifications

For employees who use the Lattice Slack App, interactive workflows replace the existing Update reminder. Other Lattice Slack notifications remain unchanged.

The app follows each employee’s notification settings. If an employee turns off Lattice Slack notifications, they will not receive notifications to draft an Update in Slack. To get drafts, they must turn notifications back on. To let employees choose notifications for each product area, turn on Employees can modify.
