Use the Lattice Slack App to view Feedback you can access, give Feedback to colleagues, and request Feedback without leaving Slack.

Before you start

  • Use a direct message with the Lattice Slack App.

  • Feedback availability and visibility options depend on your company’s Feedback settings and your permissions.

  • Lattice remains the system of record for Feedback.

You can use this experience when:

  • Your organization has enabled the following:

    • Lattice AI

    • Lattice AI Agent

    • Evidence-based reviews

    • Lattice AI Agent in Slack

  • You have individual access to the Lattice AI Agent.

  • Your Lattice and Slack account email addresses match.

Feature Overview

Employees and managers can use the Lattice Slack App to:

  • View Feedback

  • Give Feedback

  • Request Feedback

The Lattice Slack App requires clear confirmation before recording Feedback or sending a Feedback request in Lattice.

View Feedback

Ask the Lattice Slack App to show Feedback you already have permission to view.

For example: “Summarize the feedback I've received this quarter.”

The AI agent only shows Feedback you can already access in Lattice. Viewing Feedback does not require confirmation.

Give Feedback

Ask the Lattice Slack App to give Feedback to a colleague. For example:

  • “Give Jordan private + manager feedback: Your project update clearly outlined the release timeline, open decisions, and next steps. That made it easy to see what was moving, where the team needed input, and how I could help.”

  • “Give Priya public Feedback: Thank you for creating a simple launch checklist and keeping it current as plans changed. It made the process easier for the whole team by giving everyone one place to find their responsibilities and deadlines.”

The AI agent identifies the employee and checks which Feedback options are available. It may ask follow-up questions, such as the Feedback text or visibility, before showing you a summary to review.

You can edit or cancel the proposed Feedback before confirming it. The AI agent does not create Feedback in Lattice until you explicitly confirm the action, such as by replying “Yes, go ahead.”

If your reply is unclear, the AI agent will ask you to clarify rather than create Feedback.

Choose Feedback visibility

Depending on your company’s Feedback settings, you may be able to give:

  • Public Feedback (see below)

  • Private Feedback

  • Manager-only Feedback

  • Private + Manager Feedback

Review the recipient, Feedback text, and visibility carefully before you confirm.

Public Feedback

Public Feedback and public praise are the same company-visible type of Feedback in Lattice.

Once you clearly confirm public Feedback, Lattice saves it as public praise. Then Lattice can notify the recipient, post the praise in the company’s configured praise channel, and notify the recipient’s manager if that manager has enabled this notification.

You can also give public praise through Help → Give praise or the /praise command. Each option creates the same type of public Feedback in Lattice.

Nothing is recorded in Lattice or posted to a public praise channel until you confirm.

Notifications

The Lattice Slack App does not add a separate Feedback notification system. Existing Lattice Feedback notifications continue to follow each person’s Notification Center settings.

For example, Lattice may notify employees about:

  • New Feedback requests

  • Reminder requests

  • Newly received Feedback

  • Public or Private + Manager Feedback received by a direct report

  • Manager reminders related to Feedback for a direct report

A Feedback-request notification may include a Give Feedback action that opens the existing Slack response modal. This is separate from using the conversational Lattice Slack App.

Troubleshoot feedback access

If you cannot view, give, or request Feedback in Slack:

  • Confirm that you have permission to use Feedback in Lattice.

  • Ask your Lattice administrator whether Lattice AI Agent in Slack, the Lattice AI Agent, and Lattice AI are enabled.

  • Give or request Feedback directly in Lattice if you cannot access it in Slack.
