Use the Lattice Slack App to ask questions about 1:1s and meetings you can access. You can review meeting details, add a talking point to an upcoming 1:1, or add an action item to a recent or upcoming 1:1.

Tip: Use threads for the best experience. The Lattice Slack App always replies in the thread of your message. Keep each request and its follow-ups in the same thread. This helps the AI agent keep the context of your conversation and give more accurate results.

Before you start

To use the Lattice Slack App for meetings, you must have access to the Lattice Slack App. You must also be a participant in the relevant 1:1 or meeting.

  • Your organization must have the Lattice Slack integration connected.

  • Your organization must have enabled the following:

    • Lattice AI

    • Lattice AI Agent

    • Lattice AI Agent in Slack

  • Your Slack and Lattice email addresses must match.

  • You must be a participant in the relevant 1:1 or meeting.

You do not need to install a new app. The Lattice Slack App works in the existing Lattice Slack app.

The Lattice Slack App does not join video calls, record meetings, or create transcripts. Those capabilities belong to the separate Lattice AI Meeting Agent.

Feature Overview

Managers and employees can complete the following:

  • Read 1:1 and group meeting data

  • Write agenda talking points

  • Write action items

The Lattice Slack App can add talking points and action items to Lattice without a separate confirmation step. After the AI agent adds an item, it tells you which meeting it updated. You can review and edit the item in the Slack thread or in Lattice.

Ask About Your Meetings

You can ask the AI agent about 1:1s and meetings that you are a participant in. It can help you review available agendas, notes, action items, and summaries.

Try prompts such as:

  • “What did Jaquan and I discuss in our last 1:1?”

  • “What action items do I have from my recent meetings?”

  • “Prep me for my meeting with Joy.”

  • “What meetings do I have on Thursday?”

  • “What patterns are you seeing across my 1:1s this quarter?”

To help the AI agent find the right meeting, include the participant, date, or meeting title.

Add a Talking Point to Your Next Meeting

Ask the AI agent to add a talking point to your next 1:1 with a specific person. For example: "Add 'discuss promotion timeline' to my next 1:1 agenda with Abdul."

The AI agent adds the talking point to the next matching 1:1 and confirms the meeting has been updated.

Add an Action Item to a Meeting

Ask the AI agent to add an action item to your previous or next meeting with a specific person. For example: “Add an action item to my last 1:1 with Santiago for me to send the project brief.”

Action items must include an assignee. For a 1:1, you can assign the action item to yourself or to the other participant. The AI agent adds the action item to the relevant 1:1 and tells you which meeting it updated. Lattice remains the system of record.

Continue the Conversation

The Lattice Slack App replies in the thread of your message, and it works best when you keep the conversation there. To clarify or change a request, reply in the same thread. For example, if the AI agent finds the wrong meeting, give it a different date, meeting title, or participant. You can also ask it to change or remove an item it added.

Note: Existing Slack notifications and their notification settings are separate from conversations with the Lattice Slack App.

Troubleshoot Meeting Access

If you cannot view or update a meeting in Slack:

  • Make sure that you are a participant in the relevant 1:1 or meeting in Lattice.

  • Make sure that your Slack and Lattice email addresses match.

  • If the AI agent loses context or finds the wrong meeting, reply in the original thread rather than starting a new message.

  • Ask your Lattice admin if the Lattice AI Agent in Slack is on for your company.

  • If the Lattice AI Agent in Slack is off, you can still add a talking point. Send talking point in a direct message to the Lattice bot. Or hover over a Slack message, select the ellipsis (…), and select Add as 1:1 talking point. You must have an active 1:1.

  • If you still cannot complete the task in Slack, add the item directly in Lattice.
