Interactive workflows

Your organization may also enable interactive workflows in the Lattice Slack App. Interactive workflows let eligible employees and managers review drafts and complete supported actions before Lattice saves them.

Admins can turn interactive workflows on or off in Admin Overview > Lattice AI > Features > Lattice Slack App. If your organization already uses the Lattice Slack App and has Lattice AI on, interactive workflows are on by default. When an admin turns off interactive workflows, the Lattice Slack App continues to send notifications and accept Slack commands.

To use interactive workflows, all of the following must be true:

  1. Your organization has connected Lattice to Slack.

  2. Your administrator has enabled Lattice AI, Lattice AI Agent, and Lattice AI Agent in Slack.

  3. You have the required Lattice permissions to complete the action you want.

Note: You may still receive Lattice notifications or use other supported Slack actions when interactive workflows are unavailable.

Compare tasks with and without interactive workflows

The Lattice Slack App works with or without Lattice AI. When your administrator enables interactive workflows, you can ask questions in plain language and receive AI drafts in the same Slack app. Notifications and Slack commands continue to work.

Note: The Lattice Slack App delivers Lattice notifications and supports selected actions in Slack. Lattice remains the system of record.

Review and confirm actions.

When you use an interactive workflow, you can:

  • Review a draft or proposed action.

  • Edit the content or add your own context.

  • Skip the suggestion.

  • Decline the action.

  • Confirm the action when it is ready.

Reply in the thread of the Lattice Slack App's message. The Lattice Slack App answers in that thread, so your draft and your changes stay together.

For most supported actions, the Lattice Slack App saves work only after you confirm it. Updates may be saved automatically as you refine them, and meeting talking points or action items may be added before confirmation.

Note: The Lattice Slack App makes supported work easier to complete in Slack. You can continue completing work in the Lattice web app.

Manage connectors

Connectors are optional and managed separately from the Lattice Slack App. They can provide additional context for supported workflows such as Updates.

Some connectors can be linked by individual employees, while others require administrator setup. Admins: To add, remove, or manage connectors for your organization, see Manage Connectors for Your Organization.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to install a new Slack app for interactive workflows?

No. Interactive workflows work in the Lattice Slack App that you already use. You do not need to sign in again or reinstall the app.

Does the Lattice Slack App read my Slack channels?

No. The Lattice Slack App does not monitor or store your Slack workspace. If you connect your Slack account as a data source, the app searches Slack only when you ask a question. The search includes only messages and files that you wrote in public channels. The search does not include direct messages, private channels, or file contents. You can learn more here: How the Lattice Slack App Stores and Deletes Data.

I see the Lattice Slack App, but I do not receive Update drafts. Why?

The Lattice Slack App uses your Slack notification settings. If you turned off notifications for the Lattice Slack App, turn the notifications back on.
