Job architecture is the framework for understanding roles and their hierarchy within a company. In Lattice, job architecture is a combination of user attributes that determine an employee’s compensation band in our Compensation tool.
Job architecture is available as three default user attributes in Lattice:
- Job function
- Job type
- Job level
- Job location (optional)
Because each compensation band is made up of a combination of job architecture attributes, use the optional Job role field to name each compensation band and make them easier to identify.

Align job architecture with compensation bands
- Create each compensation band with an assigned Job function, Job type, and Job level manually or via CSV upload.
- Assign employees to each compensation band via CSV upload.
Note: The CSV upload will contain all job architecture attributes. Uploading the CSV with the associated job architecture values will match the employees to the corresponding compensation band.
