What is the difference between calibrated and weighted scores?
Calibrated and weighted scores both yield a final performance score, but the methods used to determine them differ.
Calibrated scores involve a formal calibration process where admins and leadership review ratings together and apply a company-wide standard to the performance scale. Scores may be adjusted to align with that agreed-upon standard.
Weighted scores allow admins to enter or calculate a final score for each reviewee after review writing is complete. This process does not require a calibration session or group decision-making.
After calibration, scores reflect adjustments made during a collaborative standardization process. With weighted scoring, the final score reflects the configured weighting or admin-entered result without additional group review.
