Admins can upload equity grant data into Lattice to be used for Total Compensation views. There are two ways to upload employee pay data: upload manually via CSV or sync via Carta.
Navigate to Equity grants
- Enter the employee equity uploader using one of the following options:
- Navigate to Admin > Compensation > Total Compensation > Equity > Edit settings > Upload employee equity data.
- Navigate to Admin > Compensation > Settings > Employee equity > Upload CSV.
- The employee equity grants modal will appear —— Click Other providers.
- Choose to Upload new grants or Update existing grants.
Upload new grants
Choose to Upload new grants if this is the first time uploading grants to Lattice.
- Download the Lattice equity upload template.
-
Export equity grant data from your equity management service provider. Find an export that contains the required fields for Lattice.
- Some equity management software will export equity data as different tabs or files. For Lattice, you can combine these different types (e.g. ISOs and RSUs) into a single upload.
- In some cases, vesting schedules may be exported as a single named vesting schedule rather than by the values listed in the required fields. In those cases, see optional step 4 on how to get the data in the right format.
- Within the Lattice employee equity CSV template, replace personal emails with work emails. Optionally, within the modal under step 2, click to download the list of all employee work emails for reference.
- Replacing personal emails with work emails achieves the following:
- Update the personal emails to work emails: Lattice uses work emails to match grants to the right individuals
- Clean the dataset of any non-active employees: Oftentimes, exported data will have equity owned by employees that are no longer at the company and therefore not included in Lattice. This process will also eliminate these individuals from the dataset
- Note: See Prepare the Equity Upload CSV for detailed instructions.
- Replacing personal emails with work emails achieves the following:

- % immediately vested
- Upload the CSV.
- Select Save.
