Once a compensation cycle has been launched, managers of managers will receive a notification prompting them to complete their compensation review for their direct and indirect reports.
Managers of managers are responsible for the approval of recommendations submitted by those in their organization and will see a view that includes approving, in addition to recommending.

Complete your compensation review
- Within the Home page, select the Complete your compensation review task.

- Navigate to Compensation > Cycles.
- Click View submissions next to the name of the desired active compensation cycle.
Your recommendations
You can provide recommendations for your direct reports under the Your recommendations section.

Approve your organization: Approval table
Under Approve your organization, you can view and approve all recommendations submitted by your team for their direct reports.
Filtering the approval table
Apply preset filters via the View options:
- All: Displays all recommendations and approvals regardless of submitted status or not

The filter bar allows you to filter by Name fields, Currency, Department, Job Level, Job Function, Job Type, Pay Type, Pay Zone, Manager, Promotion, Waiting On, Eligibility, and much more.
You can also see two progress charts that track recommendations and approvals:
- Your recommendations: Tracks recommendation progress
- Your approvals: Tracks approval progress
Both progress bars need to be 100% to submit.
The approval table
The approval table displays everyone in your organization and is organized based on recommendations, from most actionable (ready for your input) to least actionable (waiting on another approver):
- Employee name
- Title
- Current recommender
- Promotion (if applicable)
- Performance rating (if applicable)
- Compensation band
- Compensation values (salary, bonus, equity), depending on cycle settings
- Start date
- Job level
- Manager
- Department
Table badges
On the table, you can see several different types of badges. Badges next to each pay type represent which pay variations an employee is eligible for within that pay type.
- Bonus payout: O indicates one-time bonus, and P indicates bonus plan payout

Guidance badges: Indicate cases when an existing recommendation is higher than the guidance
- Yellow: recommendation is higher than the guidance
- Grey: recommendation is equal to the guidance
- Blue: recommendation is lower than the guidance
Hovering over the badge will give details on the pay type it represents.
Approving recommendations
You can click an employee's name from the table to bring out the side participant context panel, which allows you to complete the following actions.
- Make a recommendation if none was provided by your direct report
- Approve a recommendation supplied by selecting the checkmark next to an individual's name or selecting the Approve button.
- Override a recommendation that was supplied by re-inputting the new pay or adding new pay for recommenders who haven't yet submitted their recommendation
- Add a note or pull up existing notes that have been written about the employee
Keep track
The page footer will track the number of outstanding actions you have. The next person in the compensation process will be shown here.
Once you have completed all outstanding recommendations and approvals, you can select Submit recommendations and approvals. In order to submit, all recommendations must be input and approvals must be made.
Once you select Submit recommendations and approvals, the next approver in the process will see your recommendations, and you will no longer be able to return and make changes.
