Problem
- If I reopen submissions in our compensation, what will this do?
- What are the consequences of reopening submissions in a compensation cycle?
- What happens if I reopen the submissions in a compensation cycle?
- If I move the cycle's status from "In Review" back to "Active", what changes?
Resolution
To move a cycle's status back to Active:
- Navigate to Admin > Compensation > Compensation Cycles > enter your current cycle that is in "Review" state
- Click the ellipsis on the top right of the cycle and Reopen submissions
Reopening the submission cycle allows for any previously un-submitted Recommendations and Approvals to be made.
This will not allow you to un-submit Recommendations and Approvals that have already been submitted. Once a manager submits, they are unable to have their submission reopened to modify it. Instead, options for updating a pay change Recommendation are:
- Admins can navigate to the Recommendations tab and submit changes; this will insert the admin's changes into the approval chain so the next manager in line sees what you adjusted.
- The manager can speak to the next person in the approval chain to have that person submit changes on their behalf.
Important Notes:
If you have already updated post-cycle pay changes in the Employee Pay page outside of the compensation cycle, you should not reopen the cycle back to "Active". This will modify the compensation cycle data in undesired ways.
When a compensation cycle is in the Active state, it dynamically pulls updated employee pay data:
When the cycle is in the Active stage, the system continuously reflects the most current baseline compensation data
- This means that changes that were already made in the Employee Pay page to Base pay, Variable pay, or Bonus amount, will automatically show up in the compensation cycle as the employee's current (pre-cycle) pay: Update Employee Pay Data During an Active Compensation Cycle.
- This includes pay changes synced from an external HRIS while the cycle is active
- It will also re-grant any permissions managers were granted in the cycle to view employee fields.
