How to change a manager responsibility during an active review cycle
This article covers the following topics:
- Before you start
- Change manager responsibility if the reviewer is the new manager
- Change manager responsibilities if the reviewer is not the true manager
- Visibility
Before you start
Once a review cycle has been launched, reviewers will lock in place. If a manager change has been updated after the review cycle has been launch, you may also want to update the responsibility of the manager in the review cycle as well. Please note, any reviews submitted will be permanently deleted.
Change manager responsibility if the reviewer is the new manager
Step 1: Navigate to Admin > Reviews > Auditing.
Step 2: Select the review cycle.
Step 3: Select the Reviewees tab and select on Adjust manager task.
Step 3: Select the employee.
Step 4: Make any desired changes.
You will also see a notification letting you know that any previous reviews will be permanently deleted once the manager has been updated.
Additionally, you may select the option for the direct report to write two upward reviews on both the new and old manager and have both the new and old manager write a downward review on the direct report.
Please note: Peer selection and manager writer and sharer can only be given to one manager to complete.
Step 5: Select Save.
Change manager responsibilities if the reviewer is not the true manager
If you would like to change the manager responsibilities without updating the employee data to have a new manager, Lattice allows you to reassign the downward reviewer and upward reviewee directly within the review cycle.
Step 1: In the Reviews section of the cycle, enter the Reviewees tab.
Step 2: Find the reviewee you want to add an additional manager to.
Step 3: In the right context panel, click Edit to the right of the list of names.
Step 4: This will give you the option to remove the current manager reviewer and add another name, as shown below:

Visibility
- If you change the manager writer and packet sharer to the new manager, the new manager will have visibility into the self/peer/upward reviews (if visibility is enabled).
- If you leave the manager writer and packet sharer set to the old manager, the old manager and the new manager will have visibility into the self/peer/upward reviews (if visibility is enabled).
