Set up Lattice MCP with ChatGPT

Note: Lattice MCP is only currently available for customers with data hosted in North America and for those with Early Access. To get early access to Lattice MCP, reach out to your Customer Account Manager.

Admin Set up

These steps must be completed by an administrator before members of your organization can connect Lattice MCP to ChatGPT.

In ChatGPT

  1. Confirm Developer Mode is enabled for your account.
  2. Open Workspace Settings > Apps.
  3. Click Create.
  4. Enter a name for your app.
  5. Enter the Lattice MCP URL: https://api.latticehq.com/mcp
  6. Select OAuth as the authentication method.
  7. Open Advanced OAuth Settings.
  8. Copy the generated Callback URL.
  9. Leave the ChatGPT setup page open for a later step.

In Lattice

  1. Go to Admin > Platform > MCP Server.
  2. Click Add MCP Server.
  3. Copy the Client ID.
  4. Click Done, I've copied my credentials.
  5. Paste the Callback URL copied from ChatGPT into the Redirect URL field.
  6. Click Add.
  7. Click Complete.

Back in ChatGPT

  1. Paste the Client ID copied from Lattice into the Client ID field.
  2. Leave the Client Secret field blank.
  3. Click Scan Tools and wait for the scan to complete.
  4. If prompted, complete the authorization flow.
  5. Click Create.

Publish the App

  1. In Workspace Settings > Apps > Drafts, open the newly created app.
  2. Configure access settings for your organization.
  3. Review and acknowledge any required security warnings.
  4. Click Publish.

Once published, members of your organization can connect their own Lattice accounts to the app.

Individual Set up

Once an administrator has configured and published the Lattice MCP app, you can connect your own Lattice account to ChatGPT.

In ChatGPT

  1. Open the published Lattice MCP app.
  2. Click Connect.
  3. Review the requested permissions.
  4. Click Continue to Lattice.

In Lattice

  1. Enter your Lattice subdomain and click Continue.
  2. Log in to Lattice.
  3. Lattice will ask you to grant the Lattice MCP the following permissions:
    • View employee information via MCP
    • View feedback via MCP
    • View goals via MCP
    • View Grow competencies and tracks via MCP
    • View and write meetings via MCP
    • View and write performance reviews via MCP
    • View and write updates via MCP
  4. Click Authorize to allow these permissions.

Back in ChatGPT

  1. Return to ChatGPT.
  2. Verify the app shows as connected.
  3. You can now begin chatting with your Lattice data.
