Admin Set up
These steps must be completed by an administrator before members of your organization can connect Lattice MCP to Claude.
In Lattice
Go to Admin > Platform > MCP Integrations.
In the dropdown, next to Claude, select Allowed.
In Claude
To add the connector in Claude, you must be an Owner or Primary Owner of your Claude organization (Team or Enterprise plan).
Go to Organization Settings > Connectors.
Select Browse connectors.
Select Lattice from the directory.
Select Add to your team.
After adding the connector, decide how your members get access:
By default, each member authenticates individually the next time they open Claude.
With Enterprise-managed auth (in beta for Team and Enterprise plans), you authorize the connector once for the whole organization, and members inherit access automatically on first login.
Owners can restrict which actions the connector may take across the organization. For example, you can allow Lattice to be read only and prevent any writes. Configure this under Customize > Connectors by selecting Lattice and setting its tool permissions.
Individual Set up
Once an admin has configured the Lattice MCP Connector, you can connect your own Lattice account to the Lattice Connector in Claude.
In Claude, click on Connectors > select the Lattice connector.
Click Connect and you will be redirected to Lattice.
Enter your Lattice subdomain and click Continue.
Log in to Lattice.
Lattice will ask you to grant the Lattice MCP the following permissions:
View employee information via MCP
View feedback via MCP
View goals via MCP
View Grow competencies and tracks via MCP
View and write meetings via MCP
View and write performance reviews via MCP
View and write updates via MCP
Click Authorize to allow these permissions.
Click Open Claude to navigate back to Claude.
Once this is done, you have connected Lattice MCP to Claude and can begin chatting about your data.
Troubleshoot missing new tools
Lattice continuously updates its MCP Tools list. Newly added tools may not be immediately available and may require you to refresh or reconnect your MCP connection.
For general troubleshooting, see Troubleshoot missing MCP tools or permissions. The steps below are specific to Claude.
Claude (claude.ai or Claude Desktop app)
Refresh the tools list
Claude has a dedicated refresh action. This is the fastest way to pick up a new tool without disconnecting or repeating the authorization process.
Go to Settings > Customize > Connectors.
Select the Lattice connector.
Click the ⋮ menu next to Disconnect.
Select Refresh tools list.
Review the available tools under Tool permissions.
Start a new conversation and try the tool again.
If the tool is still missing
Open the Lattice connector details.
Click Disconnect.
Connect to Lattice again and complete the authorization steps.
Start a new conversation.
If the tool still does not appear, remove the connector and add it again. You may need to enter the MCP server or connector details again.
If you use Claude Desktop, sign out and back in or restart the application after reconnecting.
Claude Team and Enterprise
For Team and Enterprise workspaces, an organization Owner or Primary Owner may need to update the connector before members can access new tools.
Ask your organization Owner to:
Go to Organization settings > Connectors.
Open the Lattice connector.
Confirm that the connector configuration and permissions are current.
Have members refresh the tools list or disconnect and reconnect the connector.
Next, check suggested prompts here.
