What does each visibility setting mean? What will be shared with the reviewee?
As an admin, you can choose what information is shared with employees after a performance review. These settings are located on the Deliverables page when creating a Review Cycle. Please note that the options available on the Deliverables page may differ based upon your other review settings.
Before you start
Reviews are not shared with the reviewee until their manager or admin releases the review packet. Once shared, reviewees will always have access to their self-review and the manager's summary. However, reviewees will never see answers to private questions.
The Deliverables page allows admins to select whether the reviewee sees downward, upward, peer reviews, or weighted goals after the cycle has ended and the packet is shared.
If the individual does not have a manager, in the case of a CEO, the admin that creates the review will be responsible for sharing the reviews packet with the reviewee.

Deliverables overview
Admins can choose different visibility settings for the manager's downward review about their direct reports, upward reviews from direct reports about their manager, peer reviews, and weighted scores.

Manager's review and summary
For manager reviews, the deliverables settings options include:
- Share both the manager's review and their summary of reviews written about their direct reports: Both the templated review itself and a summary (if you've chosen for managers to write a summary) will be shared with the direct report.
- Only share the manager's summary of reviews written about their direct reports: Only the manager's summary will be shared with the direct report.
- Only share the manager's reviews written about their direct reports: Only the review itself will be shared with the direct report.
Peer reviews
For peer reviews, the deliverable setting options include:
- Share all feedback with peer reviewers' names attached: All peer feedback with names attached will be shared with the reviewee.
- Share all feedback, but with peers' comments anonymized: All peer feedback will be shared but will not have a name associated with it. While peer feedback is anonymized for the reviewee, the reviewee's manager will be able to see names associated with responses.
- Only share feedback with reviewee's manager: The peer feedback only goes to the employee's manager. Managers will be able to see the names of the reviewers. Note: If you use this setting, we recommended that you include summary remarks in the Review Cycle. Managers can then use the summary to recap and share elements of the peer feedback with their direct reports in their own words.
- Only share feedback with reviewee's managers with reviewers' comments anonymized: Peer feedback will only be shared with the reviewee's manager and will not have names associated with it. If this option is chosen as a Deliverable setting, only Admins will have the ability to see the peer reviewers' names.
Upward reviews
For upward reviews, Deliverable setting options include:
- Share all feedback with reviewers' names attached: All feedback with names attached will be shared with the reviewee.
- Share all feedback, but with direct reports' comments anonymized: All upward feedback will be shared but will not have a name associated with it. While upward feedback is anonymized for the reviewee, the reviewee's manager will be able to see names associated with responses.
- Only share feedback with reviewee's manager: Upward feedback only goes to the employee's manager. Managers will be able to see the names of the reviewers. Note: If you use this setting, we recommended that you include summary remarks in the Review Cycle. Managers can then use the summary to synthesize and share elements of the downward feedback with their direct reports in their own words.
- Only share feedback with reviewee's managers with reviewers' comments anonymized: Upward feedback will only be shared with the reviewee's manager and will not have names associated with it. If this option is chosen as a Deliverable setting, only Admins will have the ability to see the upward reviewers' names.
Private question warning
Private questions in reviews are only shared with the reviewee's manager and admins. Private questions will be hidden from reviewees regardless of the chosen Deliverables settings. If a template in the review cycle has private questions, you'll see a yellow (if some questions are private) or red (if all questions are private) banner highlighting that fact in the Deliverables settings for that review direction.
Control
This section is where you determine if managers can end the Review Cycle early for their direct reports and share the review packet. Learn more here: How to Allow Managers to End Their Direct Report's Review Cycle!
- No, only admins can do this: Only admins can end the Review Cycle and allow managers to share review packets.
- Yes, managers can end the Review Cycle for their direct reports: Managers can end the Review Cycle for each of their direct reports individually and share their packets even if the Review Cycle is still active.
Weighted Scores
At the top of the weighted scores section, you can turn the toggle off if you do not want to share the score with the reviewee. If you choose to share the score, there is a box where you can add an optional description. We suggest explaining how the score is calculated in this box.
