The Promotions page of a compensation cycle setup allows admins to indicate which individuals are going to be promoted via this cycle.
Promotions can be added by these options:
- Individually via the Promotions table.
- Bulk uploaded via CSV.
- Import from a connected review cycle with Promotion nominations.
Add individual promotions via the Promotions table
Note: An employee must be made eligible in the cycle to receive a promotion.
- Select Edit next to an eligible employee.
- Add a new Job title for the employee.
- Decide if the employee should be promoted to a new compensation band.
- Compensation bands are optional for promotions. If a compensation band is provided, you will have the option on the Budget page to provide raise guidance for promoted employees based on placement in their new compensation bands. Selecting a compensation band here will not automatically update an employee’s compensation band assignment or Grow track elsewhere in Lattice.
- Upon opening the Promotion modal, you can select a new compensation band for the promoted employee. Use the following fields to match the employee to the correct compensation band:
- Job function (required)
- Job type (required)
- Job level (required)
- Job title
- Pay zone (optional)
- If you prefer to promote an employee without assigning them to a new compensation band, uncheck Select a new compensation band before proceeding.
- Select the employee's new pay type:
- Hourly
- Salary
- No change
- Select Add promotion.

Import promotions from reviews
Admins can select to import approved promotion nominations from a connected review cycle.

To import approved promotion nominations:
- Cycle setup: On the Ratings page of your draft compensation cycle, select a completed review cycle that includes promotion nominations.
- In the Promotions page select View approved promotions.
-
Review which employees will be added or
skipped.
- Added employees: Approved nominations for eligible employees in the cycle.
- Skipped employees: Marked ineligible or hidden in the cycle.
- Confirm by selecting Import.
- The imported employees will now be marked as Yes in Promotions.
-
(Optional) To assign promoted employees to new job titles or compensation
bands, click Edit within the promotions table and fill in
the following:
- New Job Title (optional)
- New Job Function
- New Job Type
- New Level
- New Location (if applicable)
When promotions are imported from Reviews:
- Only approved promotion nominations are included.

- If your Compensation cycle is active, any new promotions may affect your budget.
