If the option for admins to approve or deny reopen requests has been enabled, employees can request to reopen their submitted review in an active and ended review cycle. Requests are approved by the admin.
Before you start
- Once a review has been reopened, the previously submitted version will be hidden from managers and peers. They will see the review as In Progress and will not be able to view its content. Upon resubmission, visibility of the review will be restored to managers and peers.
- If the review cycle has ended and the review packet has been shared, it is not possible to request for your review to be reopened. You will need to contact an admin at your organization to have the review reopened.
Request to reopen a review when the cycle is open
- Navigate to Performance > Performance Reviews.
- Next to your review, select Write reviews.
- Within the cycle, navigate to the desired review.
- Select Request to reopen.
- Select why you would like to reopen the review within the Add a reason dropdown.
- Select Confirm.
Once your request is sent, an admin will review and approve or deny the request. An email will be sent notifying you whether your review has been reopened. Learn more in Review Cycle Email Notifications.
Request to reopen a review when the cycle has ended
For Managers:
- Navigate to Performance > Performance Reviews.
- Next to the review cycle, select Finalize packets.
- Within the cycle, navigate to Write reviews and select the review direction.
- (Optional) If multiple Reviews in the same direction, select View review.
- Select Request to reopen.
- Enter why you would like to reopen the review within the Add a reason dropdown > Select Confirm.

- If auto-approve is enabled on the cycle, the button says Reopen instead and immediately reopens the review without admin approval.
For ICs:
- Navigate to Performance > Performance Reviews.
- Next to the review cycle, select View your response.
- Select the Review direction.
- (Optional) If multiple Reviews in the same direction, select View review.
- Select Request to reopen.
- Enter why you would like to reopen the review within the Add a reason dropdown > Select Confirm.

Request approved
If an admin has approved your request, your review will be reopened, and your manager will be notified.
If peers and managers have visibility into submitted reviews during the cycle, a badge stating This review is being edited and may change will be placed on the review card within the context panel.
Once the review is resubmitted, the badge will state This review has been edited and resubmitted. Your manager will be notified.
