Will updating a key result or child goal automatically update a parent goal?

Problem

• Will my goals automatically update when I update the key result?

Resolution

Regardless of goal ownership, updating your key results will not make the parent goal reflect as Updated. However, progress amount may roll up to the parent goal. The Status field will update the percent progress of the parent goal, but the Updates field will not change.

Here are some important factors that determine whether progress rolls up to a parent goal:

• Parent objectives will always inherit progress from their child goals
• Parent Key results will not inherit progress from child key results unless the parent key result is binary
