How to create test users in Lattice
If you are an admin and you want to understand the employee and manager perspective, Lattice gives you the ability to create test users. Depending on what email provider you have, the following instructions will help.
Gmail:
If you use Gmail, the best way to set up test users is to set up test accounts using your own email by adding a "+1" and "+2" after your name.
For example, if your email is vivian@lattice.com, the emails for your test accounts that you create should be vivian+1@lattice.com and vivian+2@lattice.com.
Gmail will ignore everything after the "+" so you will still get all of the email notifications for these two employees (including the invite email).
Please use "Test Employee" and "Test Manager" to name the test users.
Outlook:
If you use Outlook, you are able to create an email address associated with your Outlook email. Below are steps on how you can create an email alias in your Microsoft Outlook.
- Go to Your info and select Manage how you sign in to Microsoft
- Select Create a new email address and add it as an alias.
- Create a new test email address and click on Add alias.
Your new email alias should now be listed under Manage how you sign in to Microsoft from your profile info under Account alias.
Your primary Outlook email address will be used to sign in to your Microsoft Outlook account.
Please use "Test Employee" and "Test Manager" to name the test users.
You'll be able to use the username and password that we give you to log in, however, you will not receive any email notifications or be able to test that part of the experience.
