In an automated review cycle, does ending peer selection early extend the writing phase?

When peer reviews are included in an automated review cycle on an automatic schedule, managers can end peer selection and launch the review-writing phase early.

Problem:

  • Will the writing phase extend if a manager ends the peer selection phase early in an automated review cycle?

  • What happens with the review writing schedule if a manager ends the peer selection early and launches reviews?

Resolution:

If a manager ends peer selection early and launches reviews before the scheduled date, the review-writing window shifts accordingly; it does not extend.

For example, if the review-writing phase is set to seven days, it will remain seven days whether peer selection runs to its scheduled end date or reviews are launched early.

Note: This applies only to automated rule review cycles on automatic schedules that include peer reviews.
