Problem

  • Getting an alert when choosing to Automatically calculate scores in a review cycle

  • Alert when adjusting weighted score percentages in a review cycle

Resolution

The alert Because your rating questions use different scales, scores will be normalized indicates that the downward template chosen includes rating questions that are on different scales (e.g., one question may be on a 3-point scale, another on a 4-point scale, etc.). To automatically calculate scores accurately, scores will need to first normalize the ratings and then calculate a weighted average for the weighted average.

Different rating scales mean that each response is a different fraction (e.g., 2 out of 3, 3 out of 4, etc.). When calculating the review will find the lowest common denominator in order to calculate. Because of this, normalized scores are often displayed out of 100.
