How to select all or a particular subset of employees to be Pulsed
When configuring your Pulse Survey, you have the option to have all your employees participate, or just a specific subset.
This is done in the Participants section of the Pulse setup. If you have already launched your Pulse, access your Pulse setup by navigating to Settings and selecting Change configuration.
All Employees Participate
If you would like all your employees to be Pulsed, select All employees in the Participants section of the Pulse setup.
Subset of Employees Participate
If you would like only a particular subset of your employees to be Pulsed, select Specific employees in the Participants section of the Pulse setup. Then select the filter to select employees you'd like to Pulsed based on default and custom fields.
The filter uses the OR function. If an employee meets at least one filter, they will be included in Pulse.
Filter: AND and OR functions
The filter will pull in users using both AND and OR functions.
The filter above will pull in users with (Department = Customer Success OR Department = Engineering) AND (Office Location = NY).
These users will be pulled in:
- Department = Customer Success, Office Location = NY
- Department = Engineering, Office Location = NY
These users will not be pulled in:
- Department = People Ops, Office Location = NY (not matching department filters)
- Department = Customer Success, Office Location = SF (not matching office location filter)
- Department = Engineering, Office Location = SF (not matching office location filter)
