Integrating Lattice with Slack allows your entire company to keep up with what's happening in Lattice by sharing activity in your company's Slack channels. Lattice will push updates to your Slack instance whenever a user receives public Feedback, updates a public Goal, or posts a public Update.
To setup the company Slack integration, first make sure you're an admin on your Lattice account. Then, go to the Integrations administration panel by clicking the "Admin" button at the top of the page, and then the "Integrations" link on the left-hand side of your screen.
Setting up a New Slack Integration
Slack requires your authorization in order to enable integration with Lattice. To set up this authorization, click the "Add to Slack" button in the Slack section of the the Integrations administration page.
This button will take you to Slack's website, where you can authorize the integration and select a default channel to display Lattice updates. Note that you must be logged into Slack in your browser to complete this step!
We often find it useful for organizations to create a dedicated channel in Slack for Lattice notifications (for example, "#lattice" or "#praise"). Once you've completed the initial Slack authorization, you will be able to customize your integration.
You can customize which notifications you receive and which channel each type of notifications post in by opening the Slack settings window after clicking the "Customize" button in the Integrations administration page.
You can enable or disable notifications by clicking the toggle by each notification type: Check-ins, Feedback, and Goals. Additionally, you can customize which channel you'd like your notification to post to by entering the channel name (for example, "#goals" or "goal_updates") below each notification type. Be sure to click the "Save" button to save your changes!
