In Lattice, Admins always have full visibility into all tools used within the system. Depending on the needs of your organization, admins can configure whether or not a manager of managers has additional top-down visibility in Lattice. If these settings are configured, this allows managers of managers visibility into Feedback, Reviews, Updates, or Growth Plans about their indirect reports.
Note: Managers of managers can view the private and pubic goals of their indirect reports by default. At this time, you can't give managers of managers access to their indirect reports' 1:1s.
To configure these settings, please follow the steps below:
Step 1: Navigate to the "Admin Panel" found on the top navigation bar
Step 2: Click on the "Permissions" tab found on the left side of your Administration panel
Step 3: Under the "Permissions" tab, check any tools for which you'd like to apply extra visibility for managers of managers
What does Top-Down Visibility Mean?
Let's say your team has a reporting structure that looked like this:
By default in the system, Taylor can see all reviews written about Susan. Tiffany can see the reviews written about Samantha and Sarah (her team).
By checking the box above for "Reviews", we can allow Alice to also read the reviews written about Samantha, Sarah and Susan by navigating to their "You" pages.
Please keep in mind that the visibility does not go to the top of the hierarchy of your org chart. For example, the CEO will not automatically be given visibility to all reports beneath them.
Note: Manager of managers review permissions also allow visibility for any historical reviews uploaded for indirect reports in Lattice.
