If an employees' manager changes and they are a Reviewee in an active Review Cycle, the "Change Manager Work-Flow" feature will allow the Admin to determine what actions the old manager and/or new manager should take. This custom work-flow allows the Admin to designate review responsibilities.
This change can be made anytime the review cycle is active.
To change the manager work-flow, follow these steps:
Step 1: Click into the Review Cycle
Step 2: Click on "Adjust manager tasks"
Step 3: Select the employee you would like to review and change these manager roles for
Step 4: Make any desired changes
Changing the Manager for the Peer Selection Phase
Step 5: Use the drop-down to choose the old or new manager
The selected manager will be responsible for 1. Approving peers for the direct report and making any overrides, or 2. Selecting peers for their direct reports (depending on what setting has been chosen during Review Cycle set-up). Only one manager can be selected for this phase.
Please note: If you are making changes to this manager work-flow during the "Review" writing phase, you will not be able to make a change to peer selection.
Choosing Which Manager(s) Give Downward Feedback
Step 6: Use the drop-down to choose which manager(s) will write a downward review about their direct report (the Reviewee)
You can choose to have both the new manager and new manager fill out a downward review, or you can only choose one manager.
Please note: This will only be an option if you have chosen a review template for managers to fill out (chosen during Review Cycle set-up)
Choosing Who the Reviewee Writes Upward Feedback For
Step 7: Use the drop-down to choose which manager(s) the Reviewee will write an Upward review about
You can choose to have the Reviewee write an Upward review for their old manager, new manager, or both.
Choosing Who Writes the Manager Summary and Shares the Review Packet
Step 8: Use the drop-down to choose which manager will write the manager summary and share the review packet with the Reviewee
Only one manager can be chosen to complete this task.
Some important notes about this step:
- If you make the new manager the sole manager reviewer as well as make them the review packet sharer, we will delete the old manager's review if they've submitted it.
- If you change the packet sharer to the new manager, then this is the manager that gets visibility into the self/peer/upward reviews (if visibility is enabled).
- If you leave the reviewing manager and the packet sharer to the old manager, then the old manager and the new manager get visibility into the self/peer/upward reviews (if visibility is enabled).
